Dubai Airport Free Zone Authority (DAFZA)
Dubai Airport Free Zone offers clients three different types of companies that can be set up at their premises. Each offers different options and benefits matching the client’s specific business requirements.
Clients can Choose Either:
Free Zone Establishment (FZE)
Formed with one shareholder, either individual (a person) or non-individual (a company). A minimum share capital of AED 1 million (USD 272,500) is required.
Free Zone Company (FZCO)
Formed by a minimum of two and maximum of five shareholders. The shareholders can be individuals (persons) of non-individual (companies) or a combination of both. A minimum share capital of AED 500,000 (USD 136,000) is required.
Branch Office of an existing company
A foreign company can set up a branch of its existing company in Dubai Airport Free Zone. No share capital is required.

Leasing - Property Options:
Offices for Rent in Dubai
Clients have a choice of premium offices for rent in Dubai. Located in state- of-the-art Business Park, Dubai Airport Free Zone offers a wide range of high quality, free-sized offices, available for rent on an annual basis. Clients can individually tailor these offices to create an environment that reflects the company’s identity and branding. Each office is equipped with carpeting, wallpaper, false ceiling and window shades, and only the finest materials are used. A minimum space of 50 sqm is required to obtain a license and 4 employee visas are granted with every 50 sqm rented.
Light Industrial Units (LIU)
High quality, thermally insulated, purpose-built units are available to rent on an annual basis. Tenants are allowed to choose between using their LIU as either, a warehouse for storage and distribution, or as a factory for assembly and light production. If required, multiple units can be used to suit individual requirements. Each LIU of approximately 350 sqm has ground and mezzanine floor offices and is conveniently located close to the airport’s apron.
If clients wish to construct their own warehouse or factory, Dubai Airport Free zone offers plots of land on lease, in varying sizes. Up to 60% of the allotted land can be utilized for construction. To conform to environmental requisites and in keeping with the policy of promoting and encouraging environmentally sound technologies, Dubai Airport Free zone will ensure that factories or warehouses constructed within their facility comply with environmentally safe production procedures. Minimum area available is 2,500 sqm. The lease term is 15 years, renewable every 15 years with one month's notice.
Investors planning to conduct their business activities within any Dubai free zone are required to establish their legal presence and obtain Dubai Business license for the activities they propose to undertake.
Companies looking to incorporate their services in Dubai Airport Free Zone can choose from three types of licenses, which can be selected according to your own requirements:
- Trade License: import, export, distribution, storage of specific products.
- Service License: requires consultation with a sales executive.
- Industrial License: light manufacturing, processing, assembling and packaging.

Government Services - Customs & Immigration

Setting up a new business is very challenging. That is why everyone at Dubai Airport Freezone aims to make the process of application, registering and licensing as easy as possible. This should not take longer than 4 weeks, provided all legal documents and bank account are complete.
As the first step clients need to complete the application form to Dubai Airport Freezone. There are a few documents clients have to submit to the Sales Department which will be reviewed by the committee for initial acceptance.
After obtaining initial approval, which will take approximately 7 to 10 working days, allocation of the facilities will be given, followed by the invoice and lease agreement.
After making the payment, clients will need to go to the Lease and Licensing Department to submit the legal documents and the Interior Design Department for layout and interior design of the office.
Once all legal documents are submitted and payment completed, the license will be issued.
Terms & Conditions:
Minimum Capital is AED 500,000 for more than one shareholder and AED 1 Million for single shareholder company
- 3 months’ notice
- In the case of early termination and the tenant exiting DAFZA, the annual rate payable by the tenant shall be charged at the rate applicable for the lease term corresponding to the actual period of the tenants stay in the premises.
- Minimum capital is not a blocked capital. It can be released as soon as the company license is issued.
